FAQs
Comprehensive Answers to All Your Dispatching Questions
From pricing to dispatching services, our FAQs answer everything you need to keep your trucks moving smoothly.
What is a dispatch service?
A dispatch service connects carriers (owner-operators or fleets) with brokers and shippers. We handle load searching, rate negotiation, paperwork, and communication so drivers can focus on the road.
How does your pricing work?
We offer both percentage-based pricing (a % of each load booked) and fixed weekly fee options. This flexibility allows carriers to choose the plan that best fits their business model.
Do I need my own MC authority to work with you?
Yes — carriers must have an active MC (Motor Carrier) authority, DOT number, and up-to-date insurance to work with us. If you’re new, we can guide you through setup paperwork.
Do you work with box trucks, semis, and hotshots?
Absolutely. We dispatch for 26 ft box trucks, semis (dry van, reefer, flatbed), and hotshot units. Our dispatch plans are designed to fit all equipment types.
How do I get started with Ten-4 Dispatch?
You’ll complete a Carrier-Dispatcher Agreement and submit required documents (W-9, MC authority, insurance certificate, and driver’s license). Once onboarded, we’ll begin booking loads for you.
Who gets paid — the carrier or the dispatcher?
The carrier always gets paid directly by the broker/shipper. Our dispatch fee is invoiced separately, so your money stays in your control.
What if I don’t like a load you find?
You’re never forced to take a load. We confirm all loads with you first and only book when you agree.
Do you offer 24/7 dispatch support?
Yes. For Standard and Premium plans, our team is available 24/7 to handle communication, updates, and urgent issues.
